My name is Tom. That is my ugly mug to the right. I am a web developer who has been active in new media and emerging technologies since 1997. I enjoy creating satisfying web experiences and helping businesses connect with their customers. Sounds like bullshit, right? But it isn’t.

I’ve worked with HTML and a slew of associated web technologies for over a decade now. I am constantly intrigued and facscinated by new concepts in web development and ways that others are enhancing the online user experience. Obviously, I talk in buzzwords. At the end of the day, I just enjoy writing and reading code. I’m a total nerd.

I took some time off from the day to day of web development to work in retail. I spent several years working as a visual merchandiser and retail supervisor. I dressed mannequins, looked for ways to better present merchandise, drove sales, and learned the needs of the customer. I’ve since taken this insight back to the web and strive to better meet the desires of the retail consumer online.

This is my personal website to allow me to share thoughts, explore random ideas, and serve as a dumping ground for all of my odd and end web creations. I also write at noturnonred.org, where I more extensively share some of my ideas on the retail industry, social media, customer service, and how they all relate.

Aside from the web stuff, I enjoy cycling, playing poker, and traveling. I am 28 years old, engaged, and live in Middletown, NJ.
